  4. 100 Word Challenge

    September 18, 2012 by sarah4evr

Part of our homework is to visit www100pwc.net an take part in the 100 word challenge. Its harder than you think! We have a prompt that we have to include in the story.

    The prompt is:

    …Looking behind me I saw…

    Enjoy!

Looking behind me I saw the shadow. Dark, gloomy and misty. I jumped startled, where was this shadow? I look around hesitantly. I’m sure I was alone. I was alone, right? Mum and dad went out for dinner. My sister was at her friend’s place. And I was alone. But I wasn’t, I could hear something/someone breathing and the shadow moved ever so slightly. I raced to my room, kicked of my shoes and grabbed a torch. Why was I doing this? I’m scared of the dark, let alone a creepy monster that’s lurking in my house. Then it happened. My bedroom door opened exposing it.

  6. I Hear Wedding Bells…!

    November 18, 2011 by sarah4evr

I hear the wedding bells ringing!

2 weeks ago I received the privilege to go to my uncle Simon’s wedding. The brides name was Jodie, and they have 2 beautiful daughters, Ramielle who is 3 years old, and Emilene who is 1 years old. The ceremony had approximately 50 people and it was a garden wedding at Miramare Gardens. The setting was lovely and sunny! The ceremony was beautiful too. Afterwards since I am part of the immediate family I joined for photo’s…who doesn’t love photos, haha?! After we took a couple of pictures we went into a really elegant room and they served us drinks and chicken skewers…(ooh fancy), while we sat down and talked.

And 6:00pm on the clock appeared and we went into the reception room. We walked in and on the right of the door there was a photo booth! The photo booth was for us to send a video message to the bride and groom and take pictures to remember the day, and it was free! What a great idea?! The food was amazing too, platter of prawns and calamari, steak with potato and gravy, bread…and butter! I felt like a princess (=

My cousins were there too so you could imagine how much fun we had! We were so lucky to be able to have entertainment the wedding too. Including…Lazy Jay and Big Guy, from X Factor. Also introducing…Young Men Society in the X Factor top 5! They were there for about an hour we took photos together got autographs danced with them and best of all listen to them sing! The wedding was amazing. And I have been to 9 weddings and I can say its in my top 3!

I honestly can’t wait till my cousins wedding in December, and the other one in January on a boat! I’ll…tell you how that turns out!

    Here are some pics!

  7. Gold Masks!

    November 18, 2011 by sarah4evr

We are learning about Gold in HSIE at the moment, that’s why we went to Bathurst. Our student teacher designed an art lesson for us about Gold Masks her name is Miss Dodd. Below you will find how to make one, have you ever made a mask? What did it look like? How long did it take? And if you end up making our Gold Masks comment on how it went and if you want upload a pic too!

How to make an Ancient Gold Mask
    Materials
    • Art Smock
    • Messy Mat
    • Paper Mask
    • Cardboard
    • Newspaper
    • Pencil
    • Scissors
    • Masking Tape
    • Paste
    • Paint Brush
    • Gold Tissue Paper
    • String
    • Gold Paint
    • Sequins
    • Gold Glitter
    • Gold Ribbon
    • Masking Tape
    Procedure
    1. Make sure you have a clean and spacious work space to work in so that your items don’t get ruined by the paste
    2. Put your art smock on. Place your messy mat and place it on your work area. Get your paper mask and put it on your messy mat.
    3. Firstly trace your mask on the cardboard. Afterwards draw a design for your headpiece for your mask. Cut out your head piece for your mask out of the cardboard. Please note to cut out extra room below the design so that you can stick on the back of the forehead of the mask.
    4. When you have finished cutting your shape apply some masking tape to the back of the mask where you desire then apply the cardboard in desired place.
    5. Then rip a little of the newspaper and paint some paste on to the back of the mask when you have completed this. Stick the newspaper 3-4 layers on the back of the mask; this will make it hard, stiff, and strong.
    6. Fill the back of the mask (only the forehead) with your paste and newspaper. When you have completed this and it is a firm hold, it’s time to apply your gold paper.
    7. Do the same method as the newspaper but this time with your gold paper and apply really little bits to get a better texture, apply 2-3 layers.
    8. If you would like to apply string under the gold paper to give it a nice bumpy effect do that before applying the gold paper. Or you could apply the string over the gold paper and eventually paint the string gold.
    9. After using the gold paper and covering the mask, add some gold paint to any places where its necessary (and apply to the string if you need too as well).
    10. Decorating can be used with glitter, ribbon etc. apply the decorations you desire to the place you would like and then you’re finished! Enjoy! 

  8. Bathurst!

    November 4, 2011 by sarah4evr

    Hello!
We went to Bathurst!! Yay! On Monday and Tuesday we went to Bathurst, for 2 days and one night. The cabins were motel style, and in my cabin were Emma, Emily, and Sammy (my closest friend). They all have blogs, by the way. On the way there we stopped at the 3 sisters and the Genolian Caves which were both beautiful!

Then we arrived at Bathurst at 6:00pm and we sat around a camp fire singing songs, doing bush dances, and telling stories from the gold rush. On Tuesday morning we had breakfast and started our day ahead. We played games from when the children in 1851. And the tour guide told us how the women washed there clothing! We made mud bricks and damper near the camp fire. We had a great time in Bathurst and learnt a lot how life was in 1851! Sorry for the delay but the pictures will come next week(:

  9. The 3 C’s!

    October 28, 2011 by sarah4evr

    Hii!
Something I love to do when I have time (which is not quite often ahaha) is to cook! Recently about 21 days ago (so the first of October) my mum bought me my own recipe book to write my own recipes.

My speciality in cooking is desserts. So I thought I should make something called The 3 C’s! Which stands for Coconut Cream Cupcake.

Basically its a normal sponge vanilla cupcake with coconut flavour so it tastes like coconut. Then the cream part comes in instead of icing. Have you ever made something from scratch? Did it turn out right? What was the recipe, comment and we might be able to exchange recipes!?

    The 3 C Recipe!
    100 grams of butter
    1 1/2 cups of coconut
1 cup of brown or white sugar
    2 cups of plain flour
    whipped cream!

    Good Luck, And Have Fun!

    Hi!

Holidays have just finished on Sunday so today was my second day back to school.

We only had 2 weeks of holidays but it was still fun! I went to Adelaide for the long weekend in my holidays, for

4 days (that wasn’t enough!). We visisted Adelaide because we have friends over there. Their names are Carl, and Rula. They have 5 children. 4 girls and 1 boy, Tara, Steph, Simone, Dominique, and Anton. Anton is 12 and Dominique is the youngest of the girls and she is 15. We had a great time! We arrivied Friday Night and we had dinner at there place and my brothers and I got to meet them for the first time in 6 years! Saturday, it was my birthday, so we went to town and looked at the shops and had lunch there, we went out for dinner taht night for my birthday at Tara’s husbands restaurant, Mediterranean.

Sunday, we went to the beach and just walked around and spent the day there. It was really nice and relaxing, at around 4:00pm we decided we should go back to their house. Unfortanutely Monday was the last day. Our flight was at 5:30pm so we decided to use that advantige and go rock climbing Anton and I at 1:00pm that was really fun too!

Adelaide was so much fun and I can’t wait till Carl and his family come to Sydney in Christmas time!
